Ceva supports IAHAIO and the human-animal bond

Ceva continues its sponsorship of the IAHAIO Conference in Paris and provides updates on partnership projects which benefit human-animal interaction (HAI).

In July 2016, Ceva sponsored the International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organizations (IAHAIO) Conference which enabled groups from across the world to come together to share their passion for strengthening the human-animal bond. The conference provided the opportunity for Ceva to reiterate its commitment to promoting the benefits of HAI and to celebrate two projects it has been involved with.

Through its participation with IAHAIO, Ceva supports two projects focused on animal assisted activity (AAA) in France and Sweden. In France, Dr. Didier Vernay and Cecile Cardon from Clermont-Ferrand Hospital University work alongside the ARDRA association to use equine therapy to assist people with multiple sclerosis. In Sweden, the Humlamaden Rehabilitation Centre, established by Lis-Lott Anderson, helps patients with various medical conditions to recover through horse and dog assisted therapy. The French and Swedish teams work together has created new standards for animal assisted interventions.

Ceva has been an IAHAIO sponsor since 2010, an organisation that is the world’s leading forum for the promotion of science, research and education in the field of HAI. It represents over 70 institutions, with over 100,000 individual members.

Commenting on Ceva’s involvement, Group Communications Director, Martin Mitchell said :

Our Together, beyond animal health recognises
the benefit that animals bring to the health of our planet. We will continue to work with as many partners as we can to actively promote the importance of this fundamental bond

IAHAIO president Marie-Jose Enders has added her support and looks forward “to more cooperation, more sharing of knowledge and practices, to help each other in professionalizing our field.”
